Sooooo much has happened in the last few weeks... where to even begin??
first off, i totally forgot how STINKIN HARD it is to spend a week with children, go all out and give my hearts to these kids, and then totally be crushed/broken-hearted when they leave again... only to repeat that whole process over again on monday
i think a love like this would be unhealthy...
full heart. broken heart. full heart. broken heart... etc, etc.
but then again, i am continually amazing as to how much this is a GOOD thing.
not that i enjoy having the kids leave... in fact, i wish that we could have kids stay for 3 weeks, cuz 2 weeks is just too short!
but i enjoy watching God pour out His grace+amazing love into my life, and see it overflow in abundance to these children. again and again i've gotten to witness this! and, much as this seems like i've only been here a short while, i've already given my heart away to over 220 students! to my small mind, that doesn't seem like it should be possible >_>
So... on that note! short stories from these past two-ish weeks:
- little boys coming up to teacher jo and asking her why she wore such tall, white socks... then they realized that they were her legs! lol ;) :)
- singing to the little girls b4 bedtime... and then having them sing back to us! it was sooo cute ~ i almost cried <3 <3
- while singing our weekly "you are special" song, well... let's see... the end goes like this, "there is no one quite like you" and during vs. 2, we'd switch "you" to "me"... and vs. 3 from "me" to "{{our name}}" ... and when we were demo-ing it/singing it for the kids, i said "there is no one quite like... CAMILLE!!" ... the kids loved it... and then, instead of singing/saying their own names... they all sang mine. so... yeah. a room full of kids singing "There is no one quite like CAMILLE!!!" ... needless to say, the whole room (esp everyone who knows me) burst out laughing... song fail? i'd say so... :P
ahh... so much more to write! remind me to take notes of all the little things that happen next week... and give myself a few hrs to write more... cuz right now i'm living off of over a week of (max. of) 5hrs of sleep a night, helping sick friends/co-workers, chatting w/ amazing friends (state-side and here), aaaand... ((best news of the week)) ... MY BABYDOLL SISTER IS COMING HOME THIS WEEKEND!!! <3 <3
